Alex and Paige met in January 2013 at a Sunday dessert night for their apartment buildings in Provo, Utah. She complimented his Ray Ban glasses and they started talking. They soon made the connection that Alex is friends with a few of Paige's cousins...small world! On Sunday nights they would often hang out talking at Dessert Nights--this went on for the entire semester! Alex finally got up the nerve to ask Paige on a date during the month of May. They went to a musical at the Hale Centre Theatre.
After a few more Sunday night chats and a Memorial Day pool party, Alex asked Paige out again to a concert. She rescheduled a final exam just so she could go (and it wasn't just because she liked the band). The next day Alex hosted another pool party and was super happy when Paige showed up despite having other plans. That night he kissed her on the back porch before saying goodbye. Summer activities spent together brought the two closer together and on August 25th Alex said the three little words, "I love you." As summer turned to autumn, they continued to fall for each other.
When Christmas approached, Alex knew he wanted to spend it with Paige so he invited her to go to Disneyworld with his family. During a magical Christmas at Disneyworld they realized they wanted to be together forever. However, in January Alex moved to Iowa for a chemical engineering co-op, while Paige stayed in Utah. Over Valentines Day weekend she flew out to see him and while visiting Nauvoo, Illinois he asked her to marry him. Paige happily said "of course!" During their time apart, giggly phone calls, occasional visits, and the excitement of getting married makes the distance seem shorter. They will be sealed for time and all eternity in the Bountiful, Utah LDS Temple on August 23, 2014.
